Had an awesome time borrowing my dress for three days. Organizing it was a breeze; I mailed the dress and got it back right on schedule. The payment process was speedy, which was perfect since it left me with a bit of extra cash for the holiday season!

The concept behind this app is solid, but in reality, it just falls flat. After nearly a year of renting, I can confidently say it’s not worth the hassle.

You end up dealing with some really rude and entitled borrowers who return your items with stains and marks, and they won’t even cough up £10 for dry cleaning. One borrower completely wrecked my dress, ripping it beyond repair and then acted like it was no big deal. Plus, there are folks who cancel rentals at the last minute and expect refunds, even when you’re not required to give them.

While many lenders are great, there’s that pesky 20% who ruin the whole vibe. Because of them, I’m always anxious when I lend something out, worrying about what condition it’ll come back in and the inevitable argument with a borrower who won’t take responsibility. The app isn’t much help in resolving these issues either. I used to enjoy making a little extra cash by renting out my clothes, but I’ve since stopped using the app altogether.

If you care about your clothes, just skip it.

It’s never been simpler to share styles! I highly suggest that everyone gives renting or lending a go at least once this year. If you’re into fashion or hunting for that unique piece for an event that’s just too pricey or out of the ordinary to purchase, you can’t miss out on this platform! The community is super friendly, and the items are handled with care.

Fantastic idea and mostly awesome rentals, I've done about 6 so far! It's incredible to rock something fresh for every wedding (I'm at that stage where it's weddings everywhere) - it's been a lifesaver! The app does have its moments of glitchiness, and there's nothing in place to prevent folks from bailing on you last minute without a solid excuse. Just gotta keep a backup plan handy, learned that the tough way. I'll keep using it and spreading the word 😀

Awesome concept - really enjoy checking out what others have in their closets! The search features on the site could use some work since it can be tricky to filter things like sizes. But it's great to reach out to lenders and the main office team. It's fantastic to know we're cutting down on waste and boosting our cost per wear numbers!

I've rented a couple of times and will surely use it again! This platform is really fantastic, and up to now, my experiences have been nothing short of excellent! The app does run a bit slow, but it ain't enough to deter me.

I’m really into this app and the whole idea of renting dresses, so I added some of my pieces a few months ago.

It’s definitely seasonal (fashion, duh!), and I’ve noticed that one particular glittery winter dress has been booked non-stop since I put it up. Six times in just about two months!

I’ve already made back the value of that dress with the rentals, and so far, I haven’t run into any problems! It’s actually made me think more about my purchases, since I now take into account how much I can rent an item for.

A couple of things I’m not too happy about:
- The payment process is kinda slow. I know they use Stripe, and since I work with it, I’m aware that payments can be quicker. Sometimes it takes a week from when the rental ends to get paid.
- Their suggested rental prices are way off. They don’t really consider the niche of the dress, like being a larger size when most similar listings are size 8-10. To me, that makes it more valuable (supply and demand, right?). I almost gave away rentals at first, getting around £30, but now I’ve set it at £50 for three days, which feels much more fair. Clearly, their suggested rates are lower to attract renters over lenders.

Other than that, I’m really enjoying the concept and I’m happy to be making some extra cash!

I've been lucky enough to avoid any negative experiences, and it's a solid way to earn some extra cash.

The only hiccup I faced was when a potential renter developed a rash and couldn't go through with renting a dress on the actual day. I wasn't able to refund her right away, but the By Rotation team sorted it out in less than 24 hours!

I also enjoy attending their events and connecting with other members of this amazing (and eco-friendly!!) community!
